Letters of Recommendation

Letters for Past Research Assistances and Summer Interns:

Professor Srinivasan is happy to write letters of recommendation for students who have worked in the LCD Lab. If you would like a letter, please email your mentor and Professor Srinivasan at srinivasanletter[at]gmail[dot]com to let them know that you would like to ask for a letter. If they approve, fill out the letter request form.

If you do not email, there is no guarantee your request will be seen and your letter written in a timely manner.

Please note:

1) To qualify for a letter of recommendation or a completion certificate, you must have worked in the lab for two semesters in our Research Assistant Program, OR for a summer in our Internship Program (approximately 270 hours).

2) Letters of recommendation will be kept on file and sent directly to employers or schools at your request. Letters of recommendation will not be given directly to you.

3) Completion certificate will only be given to students who were part of the LCD Lab Summer Internship Program. If you qualify, you may ask for a completion certificate in addition to a letter of recommendation. Completion certificate will be sent directly to you on a case by case basis.

4) You must submit a request at least four weeks before your deadline.

5) Professor Srinivasan evaluates each request on a case by case basis and can not guarantee that all requests will be granted.

Letters for Past Undergraduate Students:
Professor Srinivasan is happy to write letters of recommendation for students who have taken one of his undergraduate courses. If you would like a letter, please fill out the letter request form and then email Professor Srinivasan at srinivasanletter[at]gmail[dot]com to let him know that you are submitting a request.If you do not email, there is no guarantee your request will be seen and your letter written in a timely manner.

Please note:

1) Letters for students who have only taken one of Professor Srinivasan’s courses and have not additionally worked in the LCD Lab should note that their letters would be very general. These types of letters will be less useful for getting into graduate programs and therefore Professor Srinivasan recommends, when ever possible, that you work in the LCD Lab before asking for a letter of recommendation.

2) You must submit a request at least four weeks before your deadline.

3) Professor Srinivasan evaluate each request on a case by case basis and can not guarantee that all requests will be granted.

4) To qualify for a letter of recommendation you must have completed one of Professor Srinivasan’s courses and received a grade of a B or higher.
